Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard provides a spectrum of services for patients, their families, and health care practitioners:

Nursing:

  • RN staff certified in hospice and palliative care
  • Coordination of patient care during life-limiting illness
  • Pain and symptom management
  • 24-hour On-Call RN staff

Social Work:

  • Patient and family support
  • Community resource referral
  • Grief and bereavement counseling and support

Volunteer Support:

  • Specially trained and supervised volunteers
  • Respite, errands, and companionship
  • Overnight vigils at time of dying

Chaplaincy:

  • Pastoral care for people of all spiritual beliefs

Community Outreach

  • John Christopher Fund for patient care
  • Advance directives consultation
  • Community end-of-life education
  • Palliative care education for health care practitioners

All services are given free of charge and free of insurance reimbursements or restrictions.
