Donna Lee Stauffer Memorial Fund
Your generosity to the Donna Lee Stauffer Memorial Fund gives young people facing profound loss the compassion, understanding, and tools they need to heal, build resilience, and grow into healthy, compassionate adults.
This restricted fund for children’s bereavement was established by former HPCMV Executive Director Cathy Stauffer Wozniak in memory of her younger sister, Donna Lee, who was tragically killed at the age of six when Cathy was just eight years old.
“Grief support specifically for children was not readily available when I lost my sister,” Cathy shared. “I’ve always wanted to do something meaningful to honor and remember her. This was a deeply personal way to transform a heartbreaking experience for my entire family into a source of hope for children today.”
The Donna Lee Stauffer Memorial Fund is restricted to providing age-appropriate counseling, therapeutic activities, and specialized support to help children navigate grief. The fund may also support the education, training, and professional development of HPCMV grief counselors who provide services to children. Every gift to this fund helps ensure that children and families facing loss on Martha’s Vineyard have access to compassionate, specialized grief support when they need it most.
