Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. — August 25, 2026 — Hospice & Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard (HPCMV) has been named a 2026 Hospice CAHPS Honors recipient by MatrixCare, a national recognition honoring hospice agencies that demonstrate a commitment to high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.
The distinction is based entirely on feedback from patients’ families and caregivers through the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice Survey, making the recognition a meaningful reflection of the experiences of the people HPCMV serves.
To earn Hospice CAHPS Honors recognition, HPCMV scored above the national average on the survey’s “Willingness to Recommend” measure, as well as the majority of measures evaluating key areas of hospice care, including communication, symptom management, and emotional and spiritual support.
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from the families and caregivers we have the privilege of supporting,” said Chantale Patterson, HPCMV Executive Director. “Hospice care is about so much more than medical care. It’s about listening, communicating, managing symptoms, and supporting the whole family during an incredibly important time. We are grateful to our team for the compassionate care they provide every day and to the families who took the time to share their experiences.”
The Hospice CAHPS Honors program recognizes hospice agencies that consistently achieve high performance on the Hospice CAHPS survey. For HPCMV, the honor reflects its ongoing commitment to providing compassionate, personalized care to patients and families across Martha’s Vineyard.
