Handmade from the Heart
Handmade from the Heart is a cherished holiday tradition that brings our Island community together in support of Hospice & Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard. Each year, talented Island makers, friends, and neighbors donate handmade gifts, crafts, and homemade treats, each one lovingly created to share the spirit of the season. Every purchase helps provide hospice, palliative, and bereavement care close to home, for Islanders and their families when they need it most. Held at the Daniel Fisher House during Christmas in Edgartown, the marketplace features one-of-a-kind gifts, festive baked goods, holiday cards, and seasonal favorites, making it the perfect place to find something special for everyone on your list.
Handmade from the Heart: An Island Holiday Tradition

Daniel Fisher House, Edgartown, during Christmas in Edgartown
Every holiday season, Handmade from the Heart brings our Island together in the warmest way we know: through gifts made by hand and given with love. Island makers, friends, and neighbors donate their handmade crafts and homemade treats, and every purchase supports Hospice & Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard.
What makes this marketplace so special is the people behind it. Some of our makers have been knitting, baking, and crafting for us for years. Others join us for the first time, often because hospice cared for someone they love. Each piece on our tables carries a little of that story, and when you bring one home, you carry it forward.
This year’s marketplace features one-of-a-kind ornaments, knitwear, festive baked goods, holiday cards, seasonal decor, and more. Come early for the best selection, bring a friend, and find something meaningful for everyone on your list.
Then stay a while at our Hospice-tality Café. Warm up with coffee, chowder, soup, homemade sandwiches, treats, and more, all yours to enjoy with any donation. It’s the perfect place to rest your feet, catch up with friends, and soak in the holiday spirit.
Every dollar raised stays right here on Martha’s Vineyard, helping HPCMV provide hospice, palliative, and bereavement care to Islanders and their families when they need it most.
We are deeply grateful to the makers who share their time and talent, the volunteers who staff our tables, the Daniel Fisher House for welcoming us, and everyone who stops by to shop. You make this tradition possible year after year.
